Minister of State for Railways V Somanna on Tuesday, 9 June, reviewed the progress of key railway projects in Karnataka, including ongoing and upcoming works in the Tumakuru-Yesvantpur section.

Somanna chaired a review meeting with South Western Railway Construction Unit officials at the Chief Administrative Office, Bengaluru Cantonment, the Ministry of Railways said in a statement on 9 June.

During the meeting, the minister reviewed the implementation status of the Tumakuru-Davanagere and Tumakuru-Rayadurg new line projects.

He emphasised the need for expeditious execution of the projects and directed officials to maintain focus on timely progress.

Somanna also examined the status of Road Over Bridge and Road Under Bridge works being taken up in the section.

He directed officials to ensure timely completion of ROB and RUB works, saying these are important for improving safety and connectivity.

Chief Administrative Officer Ajay Sharma and other senior officials of South Western Railway attended the meeting.
