Mumbai, October 8, 2026: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), in partnership with Godrej Properties and RC Group, has announced the first phase of a landscaped waterfront promenade at Bandra Bay, aimed at transforming underutilised land into public recreational spaces.

The project forms part of BMC’s broader plan to develop Bandra Bay into a waterfront district featuring landscaped gardens, walking areas and community facilities.

The first phase will include a bayside walking track, a landscaped garden with expansive lawns and a lifestyle hub comprising a pet park, literature zone and amphitheatre.

The second phase will introduce a mini golf course surrounded by greenery, along with a dedicated activity and sports zone.

The development at Bandra Reclamation is intended to improve public access to the waterfront and provide additional spaces for walking, recreation and community activities.

Vishwas Mote, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Zone III) at BMC, said the initiative aims to make Bandra’s waterfront more accessible and usable for citizens while supporting the broader Bandra Bay promenade vision.

Rohit Mohan, Chief Design and Sustainability Officer at Godrej Properties, said the project focuses on creating functional and sustainable public spaces designed for durability and ease of maintenance.

Anup Singh, Head of Design and Regulatory at RC Group, highlighted the role of community participation, landscape design and environmental considerations in developing the waterfront.

The October 7 announcement did not disclose the project’s estimated cost, development area, construction schedule or completion timeline.
