NEW DELHI, September 26: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has floated a major civil works tender for the Central Vista Metro corridor, covering twin underground tunnels to be built using shield Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) and four underground stations with connecting subways and associated entry and exit structures.
The tender, issued under Package EC-04, was published on September 25. It forms part of Delhi Metro’s Phase V(A) project and is being procured as an open works tender. The estimated contract value has not been disclosed on the public procurement portal.
DMRC has stipulated a construction period of 1,260 days, equivalent to about three-and-a-half years, for completion of the package.
Bids are scheduled to close at 3 pm on November 9, while the technical bids are due to be opened at 3 pm on November 10. The procurement carries Tender ID 2026_DMRC_927788_1.
The EC-04 notice confirms that the package includes four underground stations but does not identify them by name on the publicly accessible tender page. The package will also cover the connecting subways and entry and exit structures associated with the stations.
The works form part of the 9.913-km RK Ashram Marg-Indraprastha corridor, which will provide metro connectivity through the Central Vista area. The fully underground corridor will have nine stations: Shivaji Stadium, Yuge Yugeen Bharat, Central Secretariat, Kartavya Bhawan, India Gate, War Memorial-High Court, Baroda House, Bharat Mandapam and Indraprastha.
The corridor is one of three extensions approved under Delhi Metro Phase V(A), alongside Aerocity-IGD Airport Terminal 1 and Tughlakabad-Kalindi Kunj. Together, the three corridors span 16.076 km and carry a total approved project cost of ₹12,014.91 crore.
The Centre has estimated that Central Vista metro connectivity will benefit around 60,000 office-goers and two lakh visitors daily, particularly by improving access to the Kartavya Bhawan administrative complex and surrounding parts of Central Delhi.
Construction has already begun at Central Secretariat, where the new station will become a triple interchange, linking the extended Magenta Line with the existing Yellow and Violet lines.
The EC-04 tender now opens procurement for another major civil package on the corridor, covering the tunnelling and underground station works specified by DMRC.
