The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has invited bids for licensing commercial spaces at 13 locations across 8 stations in Meerut on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor.
The move is aimed at improving commuter convenience while helping NCRTC generate sustainable non-fare revenue from station premises.
According to a statement by NCRTC on Tuesday, 26 May, the commercial spaces are located at Partapur, Rithani, Shatabdi Nagar, Bhaisali, MES Colony, Daurali, Meerut North and Modipuram stations.
The spaces will be offered on a 9-year licence basis and include both bare and built-up units. These range from compact kiosks to larger retail areas.
NCRTC said the available spaces are suitable for commuter-focused facilities such as cafés, food outlets, convenience stores, service kiosks and other retail ventures.
The agency said nearly 1 lakh commuters are already using Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services combined every day, giving the stations strong visibility, accessibility and business potential.
The stations are located in densely populated urban areas of Meerut and are being positioned as mobility and commercial activity hubs.
Through the initiative, NCRTC aims to develop station precincts as integrated commercial destinations.
The plan is expected to improve passenger experience while supporting local entrepreneurship and creating employment opportunities.
The commercial licensing plan also fits into NCRTC’s wider effort to use transit infrastructure for non-fare revenue generation. Such revenue can help support operations and reduce complete dependence on passenger fares.
The Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor is India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System corridor.
The corridor has been developed to provide faster regional movement between Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut.
Interested bidders can access tender details, eligibility conditions and timelines through NCRTC’s official website and the Central Public Procurement Portal.
