BEML Limited has rolled out a Long Reach Excavator integrated with a dredge pump at its Kolar Gold Fields (KGF) Complex, aimed at enhancing dredging and desilting operations across inland waterways and coastal infrastructure.
According to the company’s statement, the equipment has been designed to enable efficient removal of silt and sediment from rivers, canals, reservoirs, mines and coastal areas.
“It offers enhanced reach, operational flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and ease of deployment, making it well-suited for shallow water dredging and desilting operations,” the company said.
BEML stated that it is the first original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in India to offer an excavator integrated with a dredge pump.
The system has been developed in collaboration with Dragflow S.R.L., Italy, bringing together domestic manufacturing with specialised dredging technology.
The equipment was launched by Anandji Prasad, Director (Technical-Operations), Western Coalfields Limited, in the presence of senior officials from the Indian Navy, Western Coalfields Limited and BEML.
The company said the rollout aligns with the objectives of the India Maritime Vision 2030, supporting inland waterway development and sustainable water infrastructure initiatives.
“With this development, BEML continues to strengthen its presence in the maritime and dredging segment by offering innovative and indigenous solutions for infrastructure growth,” the company added.
