India’s gross GST collections rise 13.9% to ₹1.95 lakh crore in June as import revenue jumps 34.6%

India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose 13.9% year-on-year to ₹1,94,812 crore in June 2026, supported by higher domestic revenue and a sharp increase in GST revenue from imports.

According to provisional government data released for collections as on 30 June 2026, total gross GST revenue stood at ₹1,94,812 crore in June, compared with ₹1,71,105 crore in June 2025.

Gross domestic GST revenue increased 6.5% to ₹1,34,774 crore in June 2026 from ₹1,26,506 crore in the same month last year.

The sharper rise came from imports, where gross GST revenue grew 34.6% to ₹60,038 crore from ₹44,600 crore in June 2025.

Total refunds also increased during the month. GST refunds rose 29.1% to ₹32,436 crore in June 2026 from ₹25,121 crore in June 2025.

After refunds, total net GST revenue stood at ₹1,62,377 crore in June 2026, up 11.2% from ₹1,45,984 crore in June 2025.

Net domestic GST revenue rose 2.6% to ₹1,17,007 crore, while net customs GST revenue increased 42.2% to ₹45,370 crore.

For the financial year up to June 2026, total gross GST revenue stood at ₹6,31,699 crore, compared with ₹5,82,542 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year, marking a growth of 8.4%.

Gross domestic revenue during the period rose 2.8% to ₹4,54,427 crore, while gross import revenue grew 26.2% to ₹1,77,273 crore.

Total refunds for the April-June period increased 16.8% to ₹91,482 crore from ₹78,355 crore.

Net GST revenue for the year up to June 2026 stood at ₹5,40,218 crore, up 7.1% from ₹5,04,187 crore in the same period last year.

State-wise domestic GST data for June showed Maharashtra continuing to lead collections with ₹30,714 crore, up 9% from June 2025.

Karnataka collected ₹12,937 crore, up 10%, while Gujarat recorded ₹11,743 crore, up 12%. Haryana’s collections stood at ₹10,065 crore, up 9%.

Uttar Pradesh reported ₹9,165 crore in GST revenue for June 2026, registering a 19% increase over ₹7,675 crore in June 2025.

Tamil Nadu recorded ₹9,776 crore, down 2% from the same month last year, while Delhi collected ₹5,987 crore, up 8%.

Telangana’s June collections rose 11% to ₹5,050 crore, while West Bengal recorded ₹5,082 crore, up 1%.

Among other major states, Odisha collected ₹4,497 crore, up 7%; Kerala collected ₹3,159 crore, up 11%; and Andhra Pradesh collected ₹3,548 crore, up 5%.

Uttarakhand’s GST revenue declined 21% to ₹1,334 crore in June 2026 from ₹1,688 crore in June 2025.

The data also showed that post-settlement SGST revenue to states and Union Territories stood at ₹88,242 crore in June 2026, compared with ₹81,322 crore in June 2025, registering a 9% increase.

For the April-June period, post-settlement SGST revenue rose 18% to ₹2,93,926 crore from ₹2,48,347 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
