The National Highways Authority of India reviewed the progress of ongoing highway projects in and around Varanasi on Saturday, June 6, with focus on faster execution, quality construction and timely delivery.
Vishal Chauhan, Member (Admin), NHAI, held a review meeting with the Divisional Commissioner of Varanasi, senior officials of the Uttar Pradesh government and NHAI officials to assess the status of National Highway works in the region.
A separate review meeting was also chaired with officials of NHAI’s Regional Office, Varanasi, and other stakeholders.
The discussions covered ongoing National Highway projects in Varanasi, Azamgarh and Ghazipur.
The review focused on expediting implementation, resolving critical project-related issues, maintaining construction quality and improving commuter experience through timely completion of works.
During the visit, Chauhan also inspected the Ganga Major Bridge project and the Airport Underpass project.
He reviewed the ground progress of both works and interacted with project stakeholders.
NHAI said the review placed emphasis on adherence to quality and safety standards, efficient execution and timely completion of key infrastructure projects.
The authority said the exercise reaffirmed its commitment to developing world-class National Highway infrastructure and improving connectivity across the region.
