Commercial flight operations at Noida International Airport will begin from 15 June 2026, according to a statement by Noida International Airport Limited (NIAL) today, 1 May, marking the operational launch of the greenfield airport in Jewar.
IndiGo will operate the inaugural flight from the airport, followed by services from Akasa Air and Air India Express.
The development comes weeks after Phase I of the airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 28 March 2026, formally opening the infrastructure ahead of commercial rollout.
Located in Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, the airport has been developed as a second major aviation hub for the National Capital Region alongside Indira Gandhi International Airport, with the objective of easing capacity constraints and supporting future traffic growth.

The project is being implemented under a public-private partnership model by Zurich Airport International AG, which is responsible for development and long-term operations of the airport.
In its initial phase, the airport features a single runway and a passenger terminal with a capacity of around 12 million passengers annually.
The long-term master plan envisages multi-phase expansion with additional runways and a capacity scaling up to over 70 million passengers per year.
Apart from passenger traffic, the airport will also serve as a cargo and logistics hub for north India, supported by its location along the Yamuna Expressway and planned multimodal connectivity links.
With regulatory approvals in place and airlines lining up initial services, the 15 June launch will mark the entry of Noida International Airport into India’s commercial aviation network, adding fresh capacity to one of the country’s busiest air travel markets.
