The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) is implementing 28 highway and bridge infrastructure projects across Madhya Pradesh, covering more than 1,020 Km of National Highways and connectivity corridors.
These projects are supported by combined central funding exceeding ₹13,800 crore, including over ₹13,000 crore allocated under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund (CRIF) and ₹800 crore under the Setu Bandhan programme.
Union Minister of State for Road Transport and Highways Harsh Malhotra on Sunday, 1 March, reviewed the progress of National Highway works in Madhya Pradesh in a recent meeting with senior officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), and the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, along with Indore Member of Parliament Shankar Lalwani.
“With 28 ongoing projects covering 1,020+ km and investments of over ₹13,000 crore under CRIF and ₹800 crore under Setu Bandhan, the government is fast-tracking highway and bridge infrastructure development across Madhya Pradesh,” Malhotra said in a post on X.
Madhya Pradesh currently has a total National Highway network of 9,278 Km, including 5,680 Km developed and managed by NHAI, the minister informed.
According to the minister, key corridors like the Delhi-Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway and Lalitpur-Sagar-Lakhnadon, along with Indore-Harda-Betul, Ring Roads, the Multi-Modal Logistics Park and the Mahakaleshwar Ropeway, are strengthening connectivity and driving regional growth.
