Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro’s Construction & Mining Machinery business has entered into a partnership with FAYAT Road Equipment Division (FRED) India to market BOMAG’s specialised road construction machinery in the Indian market.
Under the partnership, L&T will market BOMAG road milling machines, soil stabilisers and cement spreaders in India. The arrangement will also cover sales, after-sales support and supply of spare parts for the equipment.
BOMAG, headquartered in Germany, is part of FAYAT’s Road Equipment Division. L&T said the specialised equipment range will complement its existing road machinery portfolio and enable it to address a wider range of road construction, maintenance and infrastructure applications.
The partnership combines BOMAG’s road construction technologies with L&T’s customer reach and nationwide product-support network.
Anil V Parab, Senior Executive Vice President and Whole-time Director – Manufacturing at L&T, said the addition of BOMAG’s specialised road construction equipment would strengthen the company’s existing construction machinery portfolio.
He said L&T’s nationwide service network, supported by its central warehouse in Nagpur, would provide technical and after-sales support throughout the equipment lifecycle.
Abhijit Som, Managing Director of FRED India, said India is a key strategic growth market for the FAYAT Group and that continued infrastructure investment is expected to drive demand for advanced road construction equipment.
He said combining BOMAG’s technologies with L&T’s market reach, customer relationships and service infrastructure would give Indian customers access to specialised equipment backed by local support.
FAYAT has a presence in more than 170 countries, while its Road Equipment Division includes brands such as BOMAG. L&T’s Construction & Mining Machinery business markets and supports a range of equipment in India, including hydraulic excavators, dump trucks, surface miners, crushing solutions, wheel loaders and vibratory compactors.
