After the full operationalisation of the Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat corridor, two new Regional Rapid Transit System RRTS corridors connecting Delhi to Alwar in Rajasthan and Karnal in Haryana are likely to receive approval in the current financial year, according to the Managing Director of the National Capital Region Transport Corporation NCRTC, reported The Indian Express.
The proposed corridors form part of the larger plan to expand high-speed regional rail connectivity across the National Capital Region NCR following the rollout of the Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor.
The Delhi-Alwar corridor is expected to pass through Gurugram and Rewari before reaching Alwar, significantly strengthening connectivity between Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan.

The Delhi-Karnal corridor is proposed to run through Sonipat and Panipat, extending rapid rail access towards northern Haryana.
According to NCRTC MD Shalabh Goel, these corridors are currently under consideration at a “very senior level” and are expected to get approved this financial year.
Other proposed RRTS routes, including Ghaziabad-Jewar and Noida-Faridabad-Gurugram, are also under various stages of planning.
The RRTS network is designed to operate at high speeds, offering faster intercity travel, reduced congestion on highways, and improved regional mobility.
Once implemented, the new corridors are expected to further integrate satellite towns with the national capital, supporting economic activity and easing daily commuting pressures across the NCR.
