The National Highways Authority of India upgraded 2,862 km of National Highways during April-December 2025, according to the Monthly Review Report on Infrastructure Performance for December released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.
The cumulative achievement represents a decline of 7.38 per cent compared to 3,090 km upgraded during April-December 2024.
During April 2025 to December 2025, NHAI widened to two, four, six and eight lanes and strengthened 2,862 km of existing weak pavement of National Highways, recording negative growth of 7.38 per cent over the achievement of 3,090 km during April 2024 to December 2024, the report stated.
In December 2025 alone, NHAI upgraded 509 km of highways through widening to two, four, six and eight lanes and strengthening of existing weak pavements.
This was 23.46 per cent lower than the corresponding month of the previous year.
