Nearly 94 Km of 100.6 Km Muzaffarpur-Sagauli rail line doubling project in Bihar completed

The Ministry of Railways has announced that 93.71 Km of the 100.6 Km Muzaffarpur-Sagauli rail line doubling project has been completed, marking significant progress on the key infrastructure upgrade in Bihar.

In a statement posted on X, the Ministry said the doubling project is aimed at improving train punctuality and ensuring smoother travel for daily passengers, students and working professionals.

The enhanced capacity is also expected to strengthen connectivity in the region and contribute to growth in trade, tourism and employment opportunities.

“Muzaffarpur-Sagauli Rail Line Doubling Project (100.6 km). 93.71 km work completed,” the ministry said.

The 100.6 Km Muzaffarpur-Sagauli line doubling project was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in 2018. However, the project faced significant delays.

With 93.71 Km of work already completed, the remaining portion of the project is in advanced stages.

Once fully commissioned, the doubled line is expected to substantially enhance mobility and regional connectivity across north Bihar.
