The FASTag Annual Pass has crossed 50 lakh users within six months of its launch, recording more than 26.55 crore transactions, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH).
Launched on 15 August 2025, the initiative is aimed at enhancing “Ease of Commuting” by providing private vehicle owners with a seamless and economical travel option across National Highways and Expressways.
The ministry stated that the milestone reflects the growing acceptance of the Annual Pass, with around 28 per cent of total car transactions on the National Highway network now being carried out through the pass.
Usage data highlights strong adoption at key toll locations.
Bijwasan Fee Plaza in Delhi-NCR has emerged as the leading site, with nearly 57 per cent of total car crossings using the Annual Pass.
It is followed by Mundaka Fee Plaza in Delhi-NCR and Jhinjholi Fee Plaza in Sonipat, both registering about 53 per cent of non-commercial vehicle crossings through the pass.
Region-wise, Chandigarh accounts for 14 per cent of total Annual Pass transactions, followed by Tamil Nadu at 12.3 per cent and Delhi at 11.5 per cent, indicating widespread adoption across both northern urban centres and southern states.
Applicable at roughly 1,150 fee plazas on National Highways and National Expressways, the Annual Pass eliminates the need for frequent FASTag recharges through a one-time payment of Rs 3,000.
The pass offers one-year validity or 200 toll crossings, whichever is earlier.
The facility is available for all non-commercial vehicles with a valid FASTag and is activated within two hours on the existing FASTag after payment via the Rajmargyatra App or the NHAI website.
The ministry noted that the increasing uptake of the FASTag Annual Pass reinforces its effectiveness in promoting seamless and economical highway travel across the country.
