The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has awarded work for licensing of Property Development floors at the Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station on the Delhi-Meerut Regional Rapid Transit System, marking a step towards expanding commuter-focused infrastructure at one of the region’s busiest interchange hubs.

The development will enable the creation of a modern pod hotel within the station premises, designed to cater to passengers who require short-duration accommodation during transit.

“NCRTC has awarded work for licensing of Property Development (PD) Floors at Anand Vihar Namo Bharat Station on Delhi-Meerut corridor, paving the way for development of a modern pod hotel with a capacity of 30 beds, along with a fine dining restaurant and other commuter-oriented commercial facilities,” the agency said in a statement.

The proposed facility is planned to offer safe, affordable lodging suited to long-distance travellers with limited layover time at Anand Vihar.

Alongside the pod hotel, the project also includes the introduction of dining and commercial spaces intended to enhance passenger convenience and overall station experience.

These facilities are aimed at addressing the needs of high daily footfall at Anand Vihar, which serves as a key interchange point for multiple transport modes.

“At a high-footfall interchange station like Anand Vihar, the pod hotel will provide a much-needed resting option for commuters who are travelling longer distances and have a short layover,” the agency said.

“In addition to the pod hotel, development includes a fine dining restaurant, along with other proposed commercial uses such as food and beverage (F&B) retail outlets, office spaces, apparel stores and similar facilities, aimed at improving overall commuter experience,” the NCRTC said.

The project forms part of NCRTC’s broader approach to integrating transport infrastructure with passenger-centric amenities across the Namo Bharat network.
