New Delhi: The National Highways Authority of India has launched a digital Local Pass facility and an integrated assistance platform called MargMitra on the RajmargYatra mobile application.
The two services, announced on 20 July 2026, are aimed at simplifying toll-related services and providing highway users with a single platform for information, assistance and grievance redressal.
Under the new system, eligible residents can apply for a Local Pass digitally through the RajmargYatra app without visiting a toll plaza or submitting physical documents.
The facility has initially been introduced at the Mundka-Bakkarwala toll plaza on Delhi’s Urban Extension Road-II. NHAI plans to extend it to other toll plazas across the country in the coming months.
People living within a 20-km radius of an eligible toll plaza can apply for the monthly Local Pass, which permits unlimited travel through the respective plaza during its validity period.
The digital process uses consent-based integration with DigiLocker and VAHAN to retrieve verified information, including the applicant’s address, vehicle details and linked FASTag.
Eligibility is also checked through a Geographic Information System-based verification process.
NHAI has also integrated the MargMitra Help Centre into the RajmargYatra app as a single-window platform for highway-related information, assistance and complaints.
Users can type or speak their queries, feedback and grievances in any of 22 Indian languages. The platform provides information and assistance related to FASTag recharge, KYC requirements, refund status, Annual Passes and Local Passes.
Highway users can also register complaints, track their status in real time and file an appeal if they are not satisfied with the resolution.
According to NHAI, more than 80 lakh Annual Passes have already been sold through the RajmargYatra app with real-time activation.
