New Delhi, September 13: NTPC Green Energy Limited has commissioned another 6.3 MW of the 179.6 MW Vanki Wind Energy Project in Gujarat, taking the capacity brought into commercial operation at the project to 56.7 MW.
The latest tranche, described by the company as the second part capacity of the project, commenced commercial operations from 00:00 hours on September 13, according to a stock exchange filing by NTPC Green Energy.
The project is located at Nakhatrana in Gujarat’s Kutch district and is being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited.
The latest commissioning follows the first 50.4 MW tranche of the Vanki project, which became commercially operational on July 8. NTPC’s project pipeline lists the total planned capacity of the Vanki wind project at 179.6 MW.
With the latest 6.3 MW addition, 56.7 MW, or about 32 per cent of the project’s planned capacity, has now entered commercial operation. Around 122.9 MW remains to be commissioned.
At the group level, NTPC Green said its current commercial capacity stands at 10,836.56 MW. Following the addition of the latest tranche, the group’s total installed capacity will increase to 10,842.86 MW.
Vanki is part of NTPC’s expanding wind-energy portfolio, which includes projects under development across Gujarat and other states as the company scales up renewable generation capacity.
