Mumbai: Larsen & Toubro’s Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore business has signed a contract for a gas compression facilities project for a client in the Middle East, placing the order in the company’s highest value classification.
L&T has classified the contract as an “Ultra-Mega” order, a category the company defines as orders valued above ₹15,000 crore. The exact contract value has not been disclosed. The contract follows a letter of award issued in FY26.
The project involves engineering, procurement and construction of gas compression plants for new onshore installations designed to process sour gas.
The scope includes gas inlet facilities, gas compression systems, condensate and produced water handling systems, propane refrigeration systems and associated utilities. The facilities will be developed in compliance with applicable client standards, codes and project requirements.
L&T’s Power Transmission & Distribution business will also execute two 230 kV extra-high-voltage substations to meet the power requirements of the gas compression plants.
E S Sathyanarayanan, Senior Vice President and Head of L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore, said the contract marks the start of a strategically important project that will add significant gas compression capacity and utility infrastructure.
He said the project draws on L&T’s experience in executing large and complex hydrocarbon facilities and reinforces its capability to deliver integrated solutions for challenging sour gas applications.
L&T Energy Hydrocarbon Onshore provides lump-sum turnkey solutions across upstream, midstream and downstream hydrocarbon sectors. Its project portfolio includes refinery expansions, petrochemical complexes, gas processing plants, fertiliser plants, LNG terminals and cross-country pipelines.
