NTPC’s renewable arm commissions second part capacity of 165 MW at Khavda-II Solar Project; 375 MW out of total 1,200 MW commissioned

State-run power major NTPC has announced that its renewable energy arm has commissioned the second part capacity of 165 MW at the 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project located in Gujarat.

The project is being executed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL).

In a regulatory filing dated 20 February 2026, the company stated that the second part capacity of 165 MW has been declared on Commercial Operation with effect from 00:00 hrs of 20.02.2026.

Earlier, NGEL had declared the first part capacity of 210 MW out of the 1,200 MW Khavda-II Solar PV Project on Commercial Operation with effect from 00:00 hrs of 01.02.2026.

With the commissioning of the additional 165 MW, a total of 375 MW out of the planned 1,200 MW capacity of the Khavda-II project has now been declared commercial.

NTPC Green Energy Limited said the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increased to 8,992.68 MW.

“The current commercial capacity of NTPC Green Energy Limited Group stands at 8827.68 MW. With the addition of this capacity, the total installed capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has increase to 8992.68 MW,” the company said.
