Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure the availability of 110 electric buses in the first phase for connectivity to Noida International Airport at Jewar, while also ordering officials to fully strengthen public transport arrangements ahead of the proposed commencement of flight operations from 15 June.
According to the state government statement issued after a meeting of the State Transformation Commission, the Chief Minister also stressed the need to rapidly expand electric vehicle charging infrastructure across Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh CM directed officials to ensure the availability of 110 electric buses in the first phase for travel to Noida International Airport.
He added that the public transport system should be fully strengthened before the proposed start of flight operations from 15 June.
“In the first phase, ensure the availability of 110 electric buses for travel to Noida International Airport. Before the proposed commencement of flight operations from June 15, the public transport system should be fully strengthened,” CM Yogi directed the officials, according to the statement.
The directions come as Noida International Airport prepares to begin commercial flight operations from 15 June.
The airport is expected to emerge as a major aviation gateway for western Uttar Pradesh and the National Capital Region.

Initial flight operations are expected to include domestic services, with IndiGo set to operate the first scheduled flights from the airport. The airport is being developed at Jewar in Gautam Buddha Nagar district.
The state government has also pushed for faster expansion of EV charging infrastructure to support electric mobility across Uttar Pradesh.
The focus on charging infrastructure is expected to support electric buses, airport-linked transport and wider EV adoption in the state.
Airport connectivity is also being strengthened through major road infrastructure projects.
The Union Cabinet recently approved a revised capital cost of ₹3,630.77 crore for a 31.42 Km greenfield corridor to connect Noida International Airport with the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
The corridor is planned to provide direct connectivity from the airport to the expressway network and improve access from areas such as South Delhi, Faridabad and Gurugram.
It is also expected to support passenger movement and logistics activity linked to the airport region.
The project forms part of a wider connectivity plan around Jewar, where road, public transport and electric mobility infrastructure are being aligned with the airport’s operational rollout.
