Mahindra Group has announced plans to establish its largest integrated manufacturing facility for automobiles and tractors in Maharashtra’s Nagpur, committing an investment of ₹15,000 crore over a 10-year period as part of its long-term growth strategy.

The announcement was made at Advantage Vidarbha, a three-day event aimed at positioning the Vidarbha region as an emerging industrial hub on India’s manufacturing map.

“The state-of-the-art facility will be developed across an area of 1,500 acres in Vidarbha, complemented by a 150-acre supplier park in Sambhajinagar,” the company said in a statement.

Once fully operational, the complex is expected to have an annual production capacity of more than 5 lakh vehicles and 1 lakh tractors, making it Mahindra’s largest integrated manufacturing footprint in India.

The company said the location offers strategic advantages including connectivity through the Samruddhi Expressway, strong rail links, access to domestic and export markets, and a growing industrial ecosystem.

The supplier park is intended to strengthen the manufacturing value chain through closer collaboration with partners, improved logistics efficiency, and higher localisation, while supplying components to the new Nagpur plant as well as existing facilities at Chakan and Nashik.

The automotive unit will support Mahindra Auto’s next-generation platforms, including the NU_IQ architecture, and will be capable of producing vehicles across multiple powertrains, including internal combustion engine, electric vehicles, and future technologies for domestic and global markets.

The tractor unit is expected to reinforce the company’s presence in the farm equipment segment while serving both domestic demand and export markets.

Mahindra also said it will acquire land in the Igatpuri-Nashik region to expand current product and engine capacities and support the growth of its Advanced Technology business.

In total, the company plans to acquire over 2,000 acres across three locations in Maharashtra.

“With this new manufacturing complex, Mahindra continues to accelerate its vision of shaping the future of mobility and farm mechanisation, driven by innovation, sustainability, and global competitiveness, while contributing meaningfully to India’s industrial growth,” the company said.
