NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited (NLDSL) and the Maharashtra government have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to digitise the state’s logistics ecosystem by leveraging the Unified Logistics Interface Platform (ULIP), according to a Ministry of Commerce and Industry statement in a statement on Friday, 17 April.
The MoU was signed on Thursday, 16 April, during a ULIP workshop organised by the Maharashtra government’s Directorate of Industries with participation from representatives of over 10 state departments.
This collaboration is expected to bring visibility to streamline logistics operations, foster greater coordination among state departments, and support decision-making processes through real-time data insights, according to the ministry.
The workshop focused on identifying how ULIP can be used to address logistics challenges in Maharashtra, particularly for MSMEs and small exporters, and improve visibility.
Live demonstrations of key digital platforms developed by NLDSL, including the Logistics Data Bank (LDB), Koyla Shakti – Smart Coal Analytics Dashboard, Track Your Transport, and Transport Management System (TMS), all powered by ULIP), were also conducted to showcase real-time tracking and efficiency gains across the logistics value chain.
As part of the initiative, NLDSL will support the state government in developing a unified digital platform to bring greater transparency to logistics operations, enable faster decision-making, and enhance efficiency and global competitiveness.
ULIP serves as a unified digital gateway that enables access to logistics-related data from multiple government systems through API-based integration.
It currently connects 45 systems across 11 central ministries and departments through 137 APIs, covering over 2,000 data fields, and has supported the development of more than 240 applications, generating over 300 crore API transactions.
NICDC Logistics Data Services Limited, the logistics arm of NICDC, continues to play a key role in advancing digital transformation in India’s logistics sector through platforms such as ULIP and the Logistics Data Bank.
