The Heavy Engineering arm of Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has dispatched the seventh 700 MWe steam generator for the Nuclear Power Corporation of India Ltd (NPCIL), marking a significant milestone in India’s fast-track nuclear power programme, according to a company statement on Thursday, 15 April.

The steam generators have been manufactured at L&T’s facilities at the A M Naik Heavy Engineering Complex located in Hazira and Vadodara in Gujarat.

The company stated that all seven steam generators were dispatched ahead of schedule while adhering to stringent quality and safety standards.

The early dispatch is aligned with India’s broader push to expand its nuclear power capacity and strengthen domestic manufacturing capabilities under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision.

L&T’s Heavy Engineering division is engaged in manufacturing high-technology reactors and critical process systems for sectors including refinery, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertiliser and nuclear power.

The business continues to play a key role in supporting India’s nuclear energy expansion programme.

Larsen & Toubro, a $30 billion multinational enterprise, operates across EPC projects, hi-tech manufacturing and services, with a presence in multiple geographies.
