The UDAN Yatri Café, an affordable food initiative aimed at making air travel more accessible, is now operational at 24 airports across India.
The initiative focuses on providing pocket-friendly food options to passengers at airports, where food prices have often been a concern for travellers.
The first UDAN Yatri Café was launched on 21 December 2024 at Kolkata Airport, marking the beginning of this low-cost airport food model.
With its expansion to 24 locations, the café network is gradually set to become a visible feature across airports.
Airports where the cafés are currently operational include Kolkata, Lucknow, Jaipur, Agartala, Gwalior, Varanasi, Amritsar, Indore, Patna, Jammu, Chandigarh, Rajkot, Mangaluru, Trivandrum, Coimbatore, Bhubaneswar, Mumbai, Surat, Pune, Ahmedabad, Hollongi, Vijayawada, Chennai, and Hyderabad.

The UDAN Yatri Café offers low-cost food and beverage options within airport terminals, with pricing aimed at remaining accessible for passengers.
The move addresses long-standing criticism around high food costs at airports, particularly affecting budget travellers and first-time flyers.
The typical menu of UDAN Yatri cafe reportedly includes tea for ₹10, a water bottle for ₹10, coffee for ₹20, a snack for ₹20, and a “sweet of the day” for ₹20.
The snack and sweet options on the menu differ from airport to airport, depending on local flavours.
With operations now active at 24 airports, the UDAN Yatri Café initiative signals a gradual shift towards more cost-conscious airport infrastructure, particularly as India’s aviation sector continues to see rising passenger volumes across both metro and tier-2 and tier-3 cities.
