The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation Ltd. (IRCTC) has launched the revamped Golden Chariot Luxury Train for the 2026-27 tourist season, offering upgraded onboard facilities and promotional discounts for select departures.

IRCTC, the tourism arm of Indian Railways and a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, said the newly upgraded train has been redesigned to combine heritage-style luxury travel with modern comfort and improved passenger amenities.

The Golden Chariot will operate with a capacity of up to 80 guests across 40 cabins. The accommodation includes 13 double-bed cabins, 26 twin-bed cabins and 1 cabin designed for differently abled guests.

The upgraded train features refreshed cabins with new upholstery, lacquered wood surfaces, plush linens, bath amenities, Smart TVs and Wi-Fi streaming. Safety and service systems have also been modernised with CCTV, advanced fire-alarm systems and an upgraded hospitality team.

The train includes 2 fine-dining restaurants, Ruchi and Nalapaka, which will serve Indian and international dishes.

It also has a lounge bar named Madira, along with Arogya Spa & Fitness Centre for onboard wellness and fitness services.

For the 2026-27 season, the Golden Chariot will operate 3 main itineraries covering Karnataka, Goa, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

The Pride of Karnataka itinerary, spread over 05 nights and 06 days, will cover Bengaluru, Bandipur, Mysuru, Halebidu, Chikkamagaluru, Hampi, Goa and Bengaluru.

The Jewels of South itinerary, also spread over 05 nights and 06 days, will cover Bengaluru, Mysuru, Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, Thanjavur, Chettinad, Cochin, Chertala and Bengaluru.

The Glimpses of Karnataka itinerary, spread over 03 nights and 04 days, will cover Bengaluru, Bandipur, Mysuru, Hampi and Bengaluru.

IRCTC has also announced exclusive promotional offers for select departures in the 2026-27 season.

A 20% discount on the published tariff, including supplement charges, will be available to guests of all nationalities for specified departures, subject to cabin availability and valid up to the date of departure.

An additional 5% Early-Bird discount will be available for guests who complete advance payments on or before 30 June 2026.

IRCTC said this discount can be combined with the 20% promotional offer.

The package includes all onboard meals, selected house pours, guided sightseeing in air-conditioned vehicles, monument entry fees and meals at designated outside venues as per the itinerary.

The selected departure dates under the promotional offer include Pride of Karnataka on 24 October 2026, 26 December 2026, 02 January 2027, 30 January 2027, 27 February 2027 and 13 March 2027.

Glimpses of Karnataka departures covered under the offer are scheduled for 31 October 2026, 19 December 2026 and 06 February 2027.

The Jewels of South departure covered under the offer is scheduled for 20 February 2027.
