Noida International Airport has announced that IndiGo will launch the first commercial passenger service from the airport on 15 June, with initial connectivity to Hyderabad, Jammu, Bengaluru and Amritsar.

In a post on X on 11 May, Noida International Airport said bookings have opened for IndiGo’s initial services from the airport.

The announcement marks a key step in the commercial launch of Noida International Airport, which is scheduled to welcome passengers from 15 June 2026.

In an earlier statement, the airport had said that launch of the commercial flight operations would open a new gateway for passengers, airlines and cargo operators in the National Capital Region and North India.

IndiGo will operate the airport’s first scheduled passenger flight, marking the formal start of commercial services from the greenfield airport.

The airport had earlier stated that Akasa Air and Air India Express would follow shortly after IndiGo.

The start of services follows the inauguration of the airport by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in April and the approval of the Aerodrome Security Program by the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security.

The approval confirms that the airport’s security framework, systems and operating procedures are in place in line with regulatory requirements ahead of the launch of commercial services.

Noida International Airport has been developed to meet the growing demand for air travel in the region.

The airport combines modern terminal infrastructure, efficient operations and multimodal connectivity, and is designed to support a smooth passenger journey while offering airlines reliable and cost-efficient operations.

The commencement of flight operations is also expected to strengthen regional connectivity and support economic activity across the wider region.

For passengers in Noida, Greater Noida, western Uttar Pradesh and parts of the National Capital Region, the airport is expected to provide another major air travel option along with the existing Delhi airport.

Noida International Airport, which carries the IATA code DXN, is being developed to connect the greater Delhi area and western Uttar Pradesh with other Indian cities and global destinations.

The airport has one runway and one passenger terminal in its initial phase, with capacity to serve 12 million passengers annually.

The airport’s masterplan provides for further development over the concession period, with eventual capacity planned to serve over 70 million passengers annually.

Yamuna International Airport Private Limited, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG, is responsible for the development, construction and operation of the airport under a public-private partnership project.

The concession period for the project began on 1 October 2021 and will run for 40 years.
