India’s top defence bureaucrat reviews infrastructure and multi-agency readiness in Gujarat’s Creek Sector

India’s top defence bureaucrat travelled to forward areas in Gujarat’s Creek Sector on 04-05 February 2026, where h reviewed operational readiness and ongoing capability-building efforts.

During the visit, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh met Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command, along with senior officers of the Konark Corps, and received briefings on initiatives aligned with the Indian Army’s “Decade of Transformation” roadmap to build a technologically advanced, combat-ready force capable of multi-domain operations.

He also visited the Joint Control Centre, jointly manned by the Tri-Services, Indian Coast Guard, BSF and other security agencies.

The centre aims at synergising the multi-source sensor inputs in the region to deliver a unified surveillance picture and enhance situational awareness for ground commanders.

The Defence Secretary also witnessed the multi-agency capability exercise ‘TATRAKSHA’, which demonstrated coordinated coastal and amphibious operations involving the Army, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, BSF, and allied agencies.

The exercise featured real-time surveillance, precision strikes, joint logistics, and rapid-response drills aimed at addressing emerging maritime and border threats.

Singh inaugurated a Monumental Flag in the border region and observed an operational display of new-generation weapon systems during the visit.
