India’s broadband subscriber base crossed the one-billion mark in November 2025, reflecting steady expansion in the country’s telecom network, according to the latest monthly infrastructure performance review released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (MoSPI).
The total number of broadband subscribers increased from 999.81 million in October 2025 to 1003.65 million in November 2025, recording a month-on-month growth of 0.38 per cent. The rise indicates continued additions across both wireless and wireline segments.
Wireless subscribers, which form the bulk of India’s broadband base, increased from 954.99 million at the end of October 2025 to 958.54 million by the end of November 2025. This translates into a monthly growth of 0.37 per cent, underlining the sustained role of mobile internet in driving digital access across the country.
Wireline broadband also registered growth during the month, rising from 44.82 million subscribers in October to 45.11 million in November 2025. The segment recorded a higher month-on-month growth rate of 0.64 per cent, indicating gradual but steady expansion in fixed broadband connections.
On a year-on-year basis, overall broadband subscribers grew by 6.23 per cent in November 2025 compared with the corresponding month last year. The total subscriber base stood at around 1003.7 million in November 2025, up from 944.8 million in November 2024.
The wireline segment showed the fastest annual expansion, recording a growth rate of 10.1 per cent over the year. Wireless subscribers registered a year-on-year growth of 6.06 per cent during the same period.
