India’s airports handle nearly 31.19 crore passengers in April-December 2025 as international traffic crosses 6.09 crore

India’s airports handled a total of 31.19 crore passengers during April-December 2025, comprising 25.09 crore domestic passengers and 6.10 crore international passengers, according to the Monthly Review Report on Infrastructure Performance for December released by the Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation.

Passenger traffic at international airport terminals rose 7.16 per cent during April-December 2025 to 6.10 crore passengers, compared to 5.69 crore passengers handled during the corresponding period of the previous year.

Domestic terminals handled 25.09 crore passengers during April-December 2025, registering growth of 1.68 per cent over 24.68 crore passengers recorded in April-December 2024.

During April 2025-December 2025, domestic terminals handled 2509.09 lakh passengers, which was 93.28 per cent of the target for the period and 1.68 per cent higher than the passengers handled during the corresponding period of last year, the report stated.

During the same period, international terminals handled 609.52 lakh passengers, which was 98.32 per cent of the target and 7.16 per cent higher than the corresponding period last year.

In December 2025 alone, international terminals handled 76 lakh passengers, which was 97.22 per cent of the monthly target and 5.97 per cent higher than the corresponding month last year.

Domestic terminals handled 2.89 crore passengers in December 2025, which was 87.28 per cent of the monthly target and 4.86 per cent lower than December 2024.
