Online registration for the DGR Coal Loading and Transportation Scheme will open from 20 June 2026, offering eligible Junior Commissioned Officers, Other Ranks and equivalent ranks an opportunity to become tipper owners under the Ex-Servicemen Coal Company model.
The scheme is run under the Directorate General Resettlement (DGR), Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare, Ministry of Defence.
Under the scheme, eligible JCO/OR and other equivalent ranks can invest ₹5 lakh as seed money, while the remaining amount for purchasing a tipper is financed.
The tipper will work under an ESM Coal Company in a coal subsidiary.
According to the Ministry of Defence poster, the scheme offers monthly profit-sharing income based on coal loading and transportation work.
The tipper can operate for up to seven years.
The Coal Loading and Transportation Scheme is administered on the basis of an MoU between Coal India Limited and DGR.
Under the model, ESM companies carry out coal loading and transportation work in designated coal subsidiaries.
The scheme is aimed at supporting the rehabilitation and resettlement of ex-servicemen by creating long-term self-employment opportunities after retirement from service.
Eligible candidates can register online through the DGR portal at www.dgrindia.gov.in from 20 June 2026.
