New Delhi, October 18, 2026: Investment & Precision Castings Limited (I&PCL) has begun series production of components for Close Quarter Battle (CQB) carbines after completing their development for a domestic defence equipment manufacturer. The company has received a purchase order for the components, with deliveries scheduled to begin in November 2026.
In a regulatory filing submitted to BSE on October 17, the Gujarat-based company confirmed that it had completed component development and commenced series production against the order received from its customer.
The announcement marks the company’s transition from component development to production. However, it has not disclosed the purchase order’s value, the number of components to be supplied or the duration of the supply arrangement.
According to the filing, deliveries are scheduled to begin in November 2026, in accordance with the customer’s delivery schedule. The disclosure does not indicate that any components have already been dispatched.
The order concerns components for CQB carbines rather than the manufacture or supply of complete weapons. The company has not identified the specific components being produced or the domestic defence equipment manufacturer that placed the order.
I&PCL described the commencement of series production as an important milestone for its defence business, highlighting its ability to move from component development to manufacturing using its precision-engineering expertise and production capabilities.
The company said the development strengthens its participation in India’s indigenous defence manufacturing supply chain and supports its strategy of expanding its aerospace and defence business through precision-engineered components.
The announcement confirms that production has started against an existing purchase order rather than signalling a proposed manufacturing project or an early-stage development programme.
However, the filing does not specify whether the components are intended for a particular carbine model or identify the end user of the completed weapons.
Investment & Precision Castings Limited, whose registered office and works are located in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, submitted the business update under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015.
The disclosure was signed by Whole-Time Director Jainam P. Tamboli and submitted for the information of shareholders and other stakeholders.
While the transition to series production represents progress in the company’s defence component manufacturing activities, the financial significance of the order remains unclear because its value, quantity and expected revenue have not been disclosed.
The next scheduled milestone is the commencement of deliveries in November 2026, in accordance with the customer’s delivery schedule. The company has not announced any completed deliveries or confirmed that finished CQB carbines incorporating its components have entered service.
