The Centre has earmarked ₹8,829.66 crore for State and Union Territory roads under the Central Road and Infrastructure Fund for FY 2026-27, with Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh receiving the largest shares among States.
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has allocated the funds for State and Union Territory road works for FY 2026-27. It has also allocated ₹1,600 crore for road over bridges, road under bridges and bridges on State roads under Setu Bandhan.
Of the ₹8,829.66 crore CRIF allocation for roads, States account for ₹8,304.77 crore. Union Territories with legislature have been assigned ₹172.70 crore, while Union Territories without legislature have been assigned ₹352.18 crore.
Maharashtra has received the highest State share at ₹885.39 crore. Rajasthan follows with ₹803.80 crore, Uttar Pradesh with ₹763.35 crore and Madhya Pradesh with ₹709.23 crore.

Karnataka has been allocated ₹581.44 crore, Gujarat ₹572.95 crore, Tamil Nadu ₹450 crore and Andhra Pradesh ₹406.90 crore. Odisha has been assigned ₹383.11 crore, Telangana ₹325.34 crore, Chhattisgarh ₹318.87 crore and West Bengal ₹264.25 crore.
Among Union Territories, Ladakh has received ₹319.27 crore, the highest under the UT category. Jammu and Kashmir has been allocated ₹125.73 crore, Delhi ₹35.48 crore and Puducherry ₹11.50 crore.
For Setu Bandhan works, States have been assigned ₹1,504.89 crore out of the total ₹1,600 crore. Union Territories with legislature account for ₹31.30 crore, while Union Territories without legislature account for ₹63.82 crore.
Maharashtra again tops the Setu Bandhan list with ₹160.44 crore, followed by Rajasthan at ₹145.65 crore, Uttar Pradesh at ₹138.32 crore and Madhya Pradesh at ₹128.52 crore.
The ministry said further release of funds will depend on utilisation certificates received under the existing policy.
