Akasa Air has started operations from Noida International Airport, becoming the second airline after IndiGo to begin commercial services from the newly opened airport in the National Capital Region.
The airline commenced operations from the airport on 16 June, strengthening its presence in the NCR aviation market and adding Noida International Airport to its domestic network.
Akasa Air’s inaugural flight from Navi Mumbai International Airport departed at 7.25 am and arrived at Noida International Airport at 9.35 am.
The return flight from Noida departed at 10.15 am and reached Navi Mumbai at 12.30 pm.
With this, Akasa Air has become one of the first airlines to operate commercial services from Noida International Airport.
The airline said the launch reflects its plan to expand access to high-growth aviation markets across India.
The development comes a day after IndiGo became the first airline to commence operations from Noida International Airport on 15 June.
IndiGo’s first flight arrived at the airport from Lucknow, while its first departure from Noida operated to Bengaluru.
Akasa Air will operate daily non-stop flights from Noida to Navi Mumbai and Bengaluru.
As per the schedule released by the airline, flight QP 2017 will operate from Navi Mumbai to Noida, departing at 7.25 am and arriving at 9.35 am.
The return flight, QP 2018, will depart from Noida at 10.15 am and arrive at Navi Mumbai at 12.30 pm.
On the Bengaluru-Noida route, flight QP 1575 will depart from Bengaluru at 4.25 pm and arrive at Noida at 7.15 pm.
The return flight, QP 1576, will depart from Noida at 7.55 pm and reach Bengaluru at 11 pm.
All four flights will operate daily as non-stop services.

Noida International Airport, located in Jewar along the Yamuna Expressway, is being developed as a major aviation gateway for Delhi-NCR, western Uttar Pradesh and neighbouring regions.
IndiGo has already announced plans to connect the airport with more than 16 domestic destinations in phases, including Hyderabad, Amritsar, Bengaluru, Jammu, Dehradun, Dharamshala, Chandigarh, Jaipur, Lucknow and Pantnagar.
Akasa Air said its early presence at Noida aligns with its long-term strategy of building a strong network across key growth markets.

He said the airport offers significant opportunities to improve connectivity for travellers across NCR and neighbouring states.
Christoph Schnellmann, Vice Chairman of Noida International Airport, said Akasa Air’s arrival is an important step in expanding connectivity for passengers and the region served by the airport.
The airline said the launch from Noida further strengthens its footprint in northern India and supports its plan to build a diversified network across the country.
Akasa Air will also operate a maintenance, repair and overhaul facility within the airport premises.
The facility will support aircraft maintenance activities and operational efficiency, the airline said.
