New Delhi, October 25, 2026: Bihar’s Integrated Manufacturing Cluster (IMC) at Gaya has secured 12 memoranda of understanding (MoUs) covering approximately ₹4,200 crore in proposed investments, with the potential to generate an estimated 16,095 jobs.
The agreements were signed during an event at Bodh Gaya on October 24, where Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary formally launched Bihar Integrated Manufacturing City Gaya Limited (BIMCGL), the company responsible for implementing the industrial cluster.
According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, the proposed projects cover approximately 300 acres and span food processing, automobile components, pharmaceuticals, medicinal products and other manufacturing activities.
The industrial cluster is being developed across 1,670 acres in Dobhi block of Gaya district under the Amritsar–Kolkata Industrial Corridor. The Central Government approved the project in August 2024 at an estimated cost of ₹1,339 crore.
The development is projected to attract approximately ₹16,500 crore in investment and create around 1.10 lakh employment opportunities over time.
BIMCGL is a joint venture between the Bihar Industrial Area Development Authority (BIADA) and the National Industrial Corridor Development and Implementation Trust (NICDIT), with equal equity participation.
The ministry confirmed that construction of common infrastructure has commenced, with an EPC contractor and project management consultant already appointed. The planned facilities include internal roads, water supply, electricity distribution, sewerage and wastewater treatment systems.
During the event, the Chief Minister also launched BIMCGL’s official website and Integrated Land Allotment Portal to support investor facilitation.
While infrastructure development is underway, the 12 MoUs represent proposed investments rather than completed industrial projects. Their implementation and employment benefits will depend on subsequent investment decisions, land allotment and project execution.
