Bhopal, October 23, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids to strengthen and improve 12 stretches of National Highway 346 (NH-346), covering a combined length of 42.1 kilometres in Madhya Pradesh. The tender has an estimated value of ₹15.78 crore, with the deadline for submitting bids set for November 19.
The proposed works cover existing bypassed highway stretches along the Vidisha–Hinotiya and Hinotiya–Mehluwa sections. The project involves improving these road sections rather than constructing a new 42.1-kilometre highway.
According to the government’s e-procurement portal, NHAI’s Bhopal regional office published the tender on October 22, 2026. The work is classified as a one-time improvement of bypassed highway stretches.
The tender follows an item-rate bidding system, under which contractors quote rates for specified categories of work. The estimated ₹15.78 crore value represents the authority’s tender estimate, not an awarded contract amount or expenditure already incurred.
Interested contractors can submit their bids until 4 pm on November 19, while bid opening is scheduled for 5 pm on November 20. NHAI has also scheduled a pre-bid meeting at its Bhopal regional office on November 10 to address queries from prospective bidders.
The tender specifies a work period of 365 days. However, the actual commencement and completion dates will depend on the procurement process and subsequent contractual arrangements.
The bidding process is being managed by NHAI’s Bhopal regional office, with the tender location listed as its Project Implementation Unit in Vidisha.
The proposed improvements remain at the procurement stage. The tender announcement does not establish the selection of a contractor, commencement of construction or expenditure on the proposed works.
