NEW DELHI, September 22: NTPC Group has brought an additional 56.7 MW of wind power capacity into commercial operation in Gujarat through NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, comprising capacities at the Vanki and Jamjodhpur wind energy projects.
The latest commissioning includes the fourth part capacity of 6.3 MW at the Vanki Wind Energy Project in Nakhatrana, Kutch, and the first part capacity of 50.4 MW at the Jamjodhpur Wind Energy Project in Jamnagar.
Both capacities were declared commercially operational with effect from 00:00 hours on September 22, NTPC said in a regulatory disclosure.
The projects are being developed by NTPC Renewable Energy Limited, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Limited through NTPC Green Energy Limited.
The Vanki and Jamjodhpur projects form part of the 1,050 MW wind component being developed under the 500 MW REMCL Round-the-Clock renewable energy project.
At Vanki, the first part capacity of 50.4 MW became commercially operational on July 8, followed by the second part capacity of 6.3 MW on September 12 and the third part capacity of 9.45 MW on September 19.
The latest 6.3 MW addition represents the fourth part capacity of the Vanki project.
With the latest commissioning, NTPC Group’s total installed capacity has increased to 91,221 MW, while its commercial capacity stands at 90,141 MW.
