PM Modi to launch ₹1.06 lakh crore projects in Rajasthan, open chip facility in Gujarat tomorrow

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Rajasthan and Gujarat on July 4, with the schedule covering major projects in aviation, petrochemicals, urban transport, railways, highways, renewable energy, power transmission and semiconductor manufacturing.

The Prime Minister will begin the visit in Jodhpur, where he will inaugurate the new terminal building of Jodhpur Airport and launch the Modified UDAN scheme. He will then travel to Balotra to dedicate, inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for projects worth around ₹1.06 lakh crore.

Later in the day, Modi will visit Sanand in Ahmedabad to inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility, one of the early semiconductor projects approved under the India Semiconductor Mission.

Modified UDAN Scheme: ₹28,840 Crore Regional Aviation Push

At Jodhpur, the Prime Minister will launch the Modified UDAN scheme with an allocation of ₹28,840 crore over the next 10 years.

The scheme will focus on expanding regional air connectivity by developing 100 aerodromes from existing unserved airstrips. More than ₹12,000 crore has been earmarked for this component.

The plan also includes over ₹2,500 crore for operations and maintenance support to regional airports during the initial years of operation. Another key component is the development of 200 modern helipads to improve access in remote and difficult terrain.

The scheme will continue Viability Gap Funding support of over ₹10,000 crore for airlines operating regional routes. It will also support the procurement of indigenous aircraft and helicopters, including HAL Dhruv and Dornier platforms.

Jodhpur Airport Terminal: ₹480 Crore Building With 20 Lakh Passenger Capacity

Modi will inaugurate the new terminal building at Jodhpur Airport, developed at a cost of ₹480 crore.

Spread over more than 23,000 square metres, the terminal has been designed to handle up to 20 lakh passengers annually. The building includes modern passenger amenities and has been planned to support tourism, trade and employment in the region.

The terminal’s design draws from Rajasthan’s royal architecture, including arches and jharokhas. It also includes energy-efficient systems, water conservation measures and green building practices aimed at achieving a 5-Star GRIHA rating.

Pachpadra Refinery: India’s First Greenfield Integrated Refinery-Petrochemical Complex

In Balotra, Modi will dedicate India’s first greenfield integrated refinery-cum-petrochemical complex at Pachpadra to the nation.

The 9 MMTPA complex has been developed as a joint venture between Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited and the Government of Rajasthan. It has been established with an investment of over ₹79,450 crore.

The facility integrates refining and petrochemical production, with a petrochemical capacity of 2.4 MMTPA. The refinery has a Nelson Complexity Index of 17.0 and petrochemical yields exceeding 26 per cent.

The complex is expected to strengthen India’s energy security, support petrochemical production and drive downstream industrial activity in the region. It will also serve as an anchor industry for the proposed petrochemical and plastic park.

Jaipur Metro Phase 2: 41-Km North-South Corridor

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for Phase 2 of the Jaipur Metro Rail Project, estimated to cost over ₹13,000 crore.

The phase will add a 41-km north-south metro corridor from Prahladpura to Todi Mod. The corridor will have 36 stations and will connect industrial and residential areas, including Sitapura and Vishwakarma Industrial Area.

The alignment will also connect key locations such as Jaipur Airport, Tonk Road, SMS Hospital, SMS Stadium, Ambabari and Vidyadhar Nagar. Jaipur Metro’s Phase 1 currently has an operational corridor of 11.64 km with 11 stations.

Churu Rail Doubling: 104 Km Capacity Addition In North-West Rajasthan

Modi will dedicate the Churu-Sadulpur and Churu-Ratangarh rail doubling projects to the nation.

The two projects cover a combined length of 104 km and have been constructed at a cost of around ₹900 crore. The Churu-Sadulpur section is 58 km long, while the Churu-Ratangarh section covers 46 km.

The doubling projects are aimed at improving rail line capacity in north-west Rajasthan. They will support smoother passenger and freight movement, reduce congestion and improve operational reliability.

Jodhpur Ring Road: NH-125A Section-2 Four-Laning

The Prime Minister will inaugurate the four-laning of NH-125A’s Jodhpur Ring Road Section-2 from Karwar to Dangiyawas.

The highway project has been developed at a cost of about ₹740 crore. It is expected to improve regional connectivity around Jodhpur and make movement smoother and safer for road users.

Bikaner Solar Project: SJVN’s 1,000 MW Renewable Energy Asset

Modi will dedicate SJVN Limited’s 1,000 MW Bikaner Solar Energy Project to the nation.

The project has been developed with an investment of about ₹5,500 crore. It uses 24.22 lakh domestically manufactured solar modules, supporting India’s renewable energy and domestic manufacturing goals.

Karnisar Bikaner Solar Plant: NHPC’s 300 MW Project

The Prime Minister will also dedicate NHPC’s 300 MW Karnisar Bikaner Solar Energy Plant.

The project uses about 7.75 lakh domestically manufactured solar PV cells and modules. It adds to Rajasthan’s growing role as a major renewable energy generation hub.

Rajasthan REZ Transmission: Power Evacuation Network For Renewable Energy

Modi will inaugurate a transmission line built at a cost of over ₹1,900 crore for power evacuation from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone.

He will also lay the foundation stone for a 530-km power transmission system for the Rajasthan REZ. The transmission projects are aimed at evacuating renewable energy generated in Rajasthan and supporting uninterrupted power supply in the state.

Rajasthan Recruitment: Appointment Letters For Around 54,000 Youth

During the Balotra programme, the Prime Minister will hand over appointment letters to around 54,000 youth recruited across departments of the Rajasthan government.

The recruits are from departments including education, energy, home, panchayati raj, transport, higher education, skill development, planning, agriculture, information technology and administrative reforms.

Sanand Semiconductor Facility: CG Semi OSAT To Start Commercial Production

In Gujarat, Modi will inaugurate the CG Semi Outsourced Semiconductor Assembly and Test facility in Sanand, Ahmedabad.

The project has been developed with an investment of over ₹7,500 crore and is one of the first four approved under the India Semiconductor Mission.

Once fully ramped up, the facility will have an annual production capacity of up to 5 billion semiconductor chips. It will cater to sectors including automotive, industrial, telecommunications, 5G and Internet of Things.

The facility will provide end-to-end semiconductor assembly and testing services, including wafer sorting, assembly, testing, package design, failure analysis, test programme development, product characterisation and logistics support.

The Sanand facility adds to India’s push to build domestic semiconductor manufacturing capacity as demand for chips continues to expand across artificial intelligence, high-performance computing, mobility, telecom and industrial electronics.
