Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Tuesday, 26 May, conducted a high-level review of airport expansion projects and proposed Greenfield airport developments in Bihar, as the Centre and the state government step up efforts to improve air connectivity across the state.

The meeting in New Delhi was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Kumar Jha, Civil Aviation Secretary Samir Kumar Sinha and senior officials from the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

According to the Civil Aviation Ministry, the review covered ongoing airport expansion works, aviation infrastructure upgrades and proposed Greenfield airport projects in Bihar.

The ministry said rapidly growing air connectivity in the state is opening new opportunities for trade, tourism and business activity.

Following the meeting, Jha said a “detailed review” of multiple airport-related issues in Bihar was carried out and that consensus was reached on several important points linked to airport development and connectivity expansion.
