The scheme was launched for the period from 1 July 2025 to 31 December 2025 and was later extended up to 31 January 2026.

Under SPREE-2025, a total of 1,38,718 new employers and 1,12,72,772 new employees were brought under ESIC coverage as of 31 January 2026.

The minister stated that ESIC is expanding its healthcare infrastructure across the country.

A total of 98 new ESI hospitals and 61 dispensaries have been sanctioned, while bed capacity upgrades have been approved in 12 ESI hospitals.

Super-speciality services including urology, cardiology, nephrology, oncology, paediatric surgery, gastroenterology, endocrinology, rheumatology and neurology are available in 25 ESIC hospitals.

ESIC has also entered into tie-up arrangements with public and private hospitals for cashless inpatient care where such services are not available in its own institutions.

The minister further noted that ESIC has digitised registration and claims processes through the online ESIC portal.

Employers and employees can register online, and insured persons can submit claims for cash benefits such as sickness and maternity benefits through the Insured Person portal.
