In a move aimed at making banking services more accessible and user friendly, the Ministry of Communications has revamped the ATM infrastructure of the Department of Posts across the country.
As part of the initiative, a total of 887 ATMs have been installed at post offices, enabling citizens to access essential banking services closer to their homes. The step is expected to significantly benefit people living in rural and underserved areas, aligning with the government’s broader vision of financial inclusion through digital transformation.
According to the ministry, these post office ATMs allow customers to withdraw cash, check account balances and carry out other basic banking transactions with ease. By leveraging the extensive postal network, the government aims to bridge gaps in banking access, particularly in regions where conventional banking infrastructure remains limited.
The Department of Posts has encouraged citizens to make use of the ATM services available at post offices nationwide, highlighting their role in expanding the reach of basic financial services and strengthening inclusive growth.
